Second Ward High School National Alumni Foundation Scholarship Program
For several years, the SWHS Foundation has awarded scholarships to graduating high school seniors to assist them on their college journey. Seniors must apply for these scholarships. The application process is straightforward: candidates need to complete the application form, write a one-page essay detailing their goals and, submit two letters of recommendation, and provide their transcripts.
Applications for 2025 Scholarship round are currently being accepted and must be submitted by May 28, 2028.
Before You Apply

This year applications can be submitted online. There are several items applicants will need to have ready before applying:
Essay:
Applicants must provide a one-page essay describing their goals and aspirations.

Letters of Recommendations
Applicants must provide two (2) signed letters of recommendation completed by a high school or college counselor, advisor, or a work supervisor. Letter of Recommendation must be on organization or company letterhead.

Transcript(s)
Applicants must provide an official transcript(s) of grades (including grading scale).

List of Activities, Awards, and Honors
Applicants must provide lists of school activities in which they have participated during the past four (4) years (e.g., Student Government, music, sports, etc.). List all community service activities in which you have participated without pay during the last four (4) years (e.g., Boy/Girl Scouts, hospital volunteer, Special Olympics, etc.).
Note: Please indicate whether high school or college for all special honors/awards and offices held.
